We are a group of researchers from the Institute of Physical Chemistry of Materials, Environment, and Energy (INQUIMAE), a dual-dependent institute of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET).
At Laboratorio de Superficies y Materiales Funcionales (LSMF, Functional Materials and Surfaces Lab.), we work on the research, design and synthesis of nanocomposites through soft chemical methods. These materials are applied in a wide range of fields such as health, energy and environmental sciences.
Our team at LSMF has expertise in different areas, which allows us to work collaboratively: We engage in numerical modeling, relying on both electromagnetic modeling and models generated through machine learning, in order to identify nanostructures with desired properties. The synthesis of our materials is carried out using soft chemical methods, such as the sol-gel method.
We conduct a thorough analysis of the properties of the materials we develop using advanced characterization techniques, including spectroscopies, RX-based methods, and electron microscopies.
